About the Artist

Connor Fenwick is a Chicago-based visual artist and photographer whose practice blends fashion, portraiture, and documentary sociology. Concerned with the politics of representation and the evolution of self, Connor's work interrogates how identity is constructed in the digital age, particularly through the lenses of social media, dating culture, and the queer experience.

Central to Connor's practice is archive building as a form of social engagement. Rather than a solitary pursuit, their work functions as a collaborative dialogue with history-makers, creating a living record of community, resistance, and the fluidity of desire. This documentary sensibility extends to their professional experience, including extensive work with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Marketing and Communications Department, where they managed visual narratives and archival systems with a focus on diverse, inclusive representation and ethical storytelling.

Connor's work operates in the space between the public digital sphere and the private sanctuary, using the camera to trace the impact of technology on mental health, intimacy, and self-perception. Their photography serves as a quiet, reflective marker of personal history—a "gaze without damnation" that seeks to reclaim pleasure and agency in a monitored world.

Exhibitions include Foley Gallery (NY), Satellite Art Show at SXSW (Austin), UNIQLO USA (Chicago), and ChaShaMa 4 Times Square Gallery (NY). Work has been published in Soft Lightning Studio's 50: Pride. Connor holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
